Here’s an easy way to get your students up and moving; getting those wiggles out.  At the same time, they’ll be practicing their rhyming and their counting to ten – all in one simple, classic song.

This old man, he played one (raise one finger, etc.)
He played knick-knack on his thumb;
(pound on other fist)
With a knick-knack, paddy wack,
Give the dog a bone.
(clap hands)
This old man goes rolling home.
(roll hands)

This old man, he played two
He played knick-knack on his shoe.
With a knick-knack, paddy-wack, etc.

Three – on his knee
Four – on the floor
Five – on his side
Six – with some sticks
Seven – up to Heaven
Eight – on his plate
Nine – all the time
Ten – all over again
